NY AG's Payroll Card Inquiry Makes Way For Nationwide Suits

Law360, San Diego (July 03, 2013, 11:17 PM ET) -- The New York attorney general’s recent request for information from Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Home Depot Inc. and other employers about the practice of compensating workers via payroll debit cards that may incur bank fee charges could trigger a wave of suits across the U.S. against employers and banks, as well as bills by state lawmakers looking to remove fees from the wage payment process, experts said Wednesday.
