Fiat's $254M Chrysler Stock Buy Awaits Chancery Stamp

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 1:20 PM EDT) -- Italian automaker Fiat SpA said late Monday it had exercised an option to buy a small amount of Chrysler Group LLC stock, but the sale remains held up until a Delaware Chancery Court judge settles a price dispute.

Fiat, which already owns about 58.5 percent of Chrysler, has offered $254.7 million for another 3.3 percent of the once-troubled automaker's outstanding shares. It's the third option the Italian company has exercised under the 2009 agreement that saw it rescue Detroit-based Chrysler from a U.S. government bailout....
