Verizon's Wireline Replacement Effort Draws Ire Of NY AG

Law360, New York (July 10, 2013, 3:15 PM EDT) -- New York regulators want to hear more from the public after a union and Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman ripped a controversial decision allowing Verizon New York Inc. to replace wireline phones on one of the state's barrier islands with cheaper, Internet-based service.

The New York State Public Service Commission said Tuesday it would leave the door open for public comment until mid-September "to allow customers in western Fire Island, and other interested parties, time to fully evaluate [Verizon's] Voice Link service during the summer months."...
