Porn Co. Says LA Condom Rule Is Unconstitutional

Law360, Los Angeles (July 11, 2013, 8:00 PM ET) -- Adult film company Vivid Entertainment LLC urged a California federal judge Thursday to block the enforcement of Los Angeles County’s new requirement that porn actors wear condoms, arguing the measure restricts their freedom of expression in violation of their First Amendment rights.

At a hearing before U.S. District Judge Dean D. Pregerson, Paul J. Cambria Jr., a lawyer representing Vivid, argued that Measure B, passed by county voters last November, was unconstitutional because the government was intruding on the creative process of adult filmmaking.
