RWE's $5.4B Wind Farm Gets UK Energy Minister's Nod

Law360, New York (July 11, 2013, 1:25 PM ET) -- Britain's energy minister on Thursday gave his blessing to RWE AG's £3.6 billion ($5.43 billion) proposal to build the world's largest wind farm off England's coast.

Awarding planning consent for the offshore portion of the project, the decision by Secretary of State for Energy Edward Davey paves the way for work to start on the 1,200-megawatt development known as Triton Knoll. The approval was granted with various conditions, including certain design parameters and environmental mitigation plans, according to documents from The Planning Inspectorate.
