Ex-Housing Authority Worker Charged In Fraud Scheme

Law360, Philadelphia (July 11, 2013, 6:48 PM ET) -- A former employee with the Philadelphia Housing Authority was charged in Pennsylvania federal court Thursday for participating in an alleged scheme to purchase building materials with public funds before privately reselling the supplies and pocketing the profits.

Richard Lewis, 54, was slapped with one count of conspiracy for working with PHA manager Richard Perri to buy close to $350,000 worth of building supplies from local vendors and asking Perri to cover up the purchases in authority records.
