ITC Launches Patent Probe Into Crawler Cranes

Law360, Los Angeles (July 15, 2013, 12:31 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has voted to begin an investigation of particular kinds of construction crawler cranes in response to allegations of patent infringement made last month by the Wisconsin-based Manitowoc Cranes LLC against Sany America Inc., the ITC said Thursday.

The commission said the products at issue in the investigation are mobile cranes that use variable position counterweight technology to improve the cranes’ operation and use, according to a statement.
