Fed. Circ. Urged To Reinstate RIM Patent Case

Law360, Washington (July 12, 2013, 4:16 PM EDT) -- St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc. pushed a Federal Circuit panel Friday to resurrect its patent infringement suit against Research In Motion Ltd., alleging a lower court misread precedent and inappropriately tangled its standards for reviewing the case.

According to St. Clair, U.S. District Judge Leonard P. Stark should have allowed the company to supplement its expert reports and explore a new infringement theory based on Federal Circuit claim construction precedent on the patents-in-suit.
