Nokia Mobile Technology Draws $17.8B Suit: Report

Law360, New York (January 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Munich, Germany-based company partially financed by hedge fund manager Fortress Investment Group LLC has targeted Nokia Corp. in a $17.8 billion infringement suit over mobile communication patents, according to a news report.

IP-Com, of which Fortress owns nearly a 50% stake, filed suit against the Finnish mobile-phone giant in the Mannheim district court in southern Germany late last year, IP-Com’s Managing Director Christoph Schoeller told Reuters on Wednesday.
