Exxaro, GDF Suez Team Up On 600-MW Plant In S. Africa

Law360, New York (July 15, 2013, 6:18 PM ET) -- South African coal producer Exxaro Resources Ltd. is joining forces with French energy major GDF Suez SA to develop a 600-megawatt, coal-fired power plant in the northern province of Limpopo in South Africa, it said Monday, adding that the facility's capacity could eventually double.

The proposed development sits about 10 miles northwest of the town of Lephalale, adjacent to an existing Exxaro coal mine. A separate greenfields mine would fuel the facility, supplying up to 4 million tons of coal per year to support on-site production....
