Boar's Head Faces Class Action Over Low-Sodium Claims

Law360, New York (July 15, 2013, 7:35 PM ET) -- Deli meat producer Boar’s Head was hit with a putative class action Friday, alleging its “reduced sodium” label is a load of bologna and violates New York law concerning deceptive acts and practices.

Some of the company’s low-sodium products actually have as much sodium as their traditional counterparts, the complaint alleges, while other products boast reduction figures exaggerated by more than 10 percent.
