Former Pa. County Atty Says Politics Cost Him His Job

Law360, Philadelphia (July 16, 2013, 5:02 PM EDT) -- The former appointed attorney for a Pennsylvania county board and two-time Democratic congressional candidate filed suit in federal court Monday alleging that he was illegally fired for political reasons after Republicans took two out of three county commissioner seats.

Kenneth Burkley says that two new Republican commissioners urged the five-member Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County to fire him despite the fact that his job was not considered a political appointment.
