Manufacturer Agrees To Settle Cancer Cluster Case

Law360, New York (January 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Modine Manufacturing has reached a multimillion-dollar settlement agreement in a federal class action involving allegations of environmental contamination that caused rare forms of cancer. Another defendant, Rohm and Haas Corp., has pledged to keep fighting.

Modine Manufacturing tentatively agreed last week to pay an undisclosed sum to the 22 plaintiffs in the case, and $2 million to settle the matter, pending a judge's approval.
