Injunction Upheld In Applera v. MJ Research Patent Fight

Law360, New York (November 23, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- There is no end in sight to the seven-year old patent dispute between MJ Research and Applera Corp., with a Connecticut judge denying an MJ Research motion to enforce a settlement between the two companies.

MJ Research’s parent company, Bio-Rad, said that the company will continue to comply with a court ordered injunction, but that it will appeal the recent decision.

The two companies have been battling over the patents for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) instruments.
