Anheuser-Busch Scores Win in 'Ultimate Fan' IP Row

Law360, Los Angeles (July 17, 2013, 9:57 PM ET) -- Anheuser-Busch Inc. on Wednesday beat trademark infringement claims when a Louisiana federal judge ruled that a sports marketing company no longer holds the rights to the phrase "Ultimate Fan," which the beer company had used in a series of Bud Light advertisements. 

U.S. District Judge Sarah Vance granted Anheuser summary judgment invalidating Action Ink Inc.'s claims, saying Action Ink abandoned the "Ultimate Fan" mark and hasn't indicated it plans to resume using the mark.
