Illumina, Complete Genomics Settle Patent Disputes

Law360, Los Angeles (July 18, 2013, 8:04 PM ET) -- Complete Genomics Inc. and Illumina Inc. have agreed to settle all claims in two separate patent infringement cases brought by Illumina over four of its patents, without payment being made by either party to the other, Mountain View, Calif.-based Complete Genomics announced Thursday.

The settlement comes less than four months after a California federal judge refused to reconsider her prior art invalidation of nine method claims regarding a DNA-sequencing method patent owned by Illumina, ruling that the company didn’t offer any new rationale since her invalidation...
