Fla. Insurer Says It Must Restructure For ACA Landscape

Law360, Miami (July 25, 2013, 9:46 PM ET) -- Executives at Florida Blue, the state's largest health insurer, told state health insurance regulators Thursday that a proposed plan to reorganize as a stock insurer under an umbrella mutual holding company would allow it to adapt better to implementation of the federal health care legislation.

In a meeting in Miami before the state's insurance commission, Florida Blue asked for permission to create a nonprofit mutual holding company that would own a for-profit insurance unit as well as other subsidiaries through which it could offer other services....
