XM Settles Copyright Feud With Sony BMG

Law360, New York (February 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- XM Satellite Radio Holdings has reached a settlement with Sony BMG Music Entertainment in a lawsuit brought by members of the recording industry accusing the broadcaster of multiple copyright breaches.

The settlement marks the company's third with a major music label in the long-running spat over XM's portable music player, Pioneer Inno, which enables subscribers to upload hundreds of copyrighted tunes.

The companies released a joint statement Friday confirming the settlement, but declined to comment further. The terms of the deal have been kept confidential....
