Calif. High Court Again Refuses To Halt Gay Marriages

Law360, Los Angeles (July 23, 2013, 10:08 PM ET) -- The California Supreme Court on Tuesday again refused to stop state clerks from approving marriage licenses for same-sex couples, denying a recent bid from a San Diego County state clerk who said the issuing of the licenses was illegal.

San Diego County Clerk Ernest J. Dronenburg Jr. told the court Friday that the state Constitution didn't allow gay marriages and requested a temporary hold or stay on clerks from issuing the licenses.
