Trucking Giant Swift Sued Over Hiring Background Checks

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 5:37 PM ET) -- Multibillion-dollar trucking conglomerate Swift Transportation Co. neglected to tell more than 10,000 job applicants that they can access and contest the background checks it used in its hiring process, according to a proposed class action filed Tuesday in a Virginia federal court.

This is the second action brought against the Swift in the past two years alleging that it violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by not disclosing to potential employees that they can see their consumer reports for free and address incorrect or incomplete records....
