USPTO Says It Verified Vringo Ad Patent In $30M Google Case

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 2:35 PM ET) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said Wednesday that it had confirmed the validity of a Vringo Inc. search engine advertisement patent that was at issue in a $30 million infringement verdict last year against Google Inc. and other companies.

The patent office posted a notice of its intent to issue a re-examination certificate confirming claims of the patent, which Google had alleged in its request for re-examination were anticipated by prior art.
