Once Stung By Poison Pill, Air Products Adopts One

Law360, New York (July 26, 2013, 2:47 PM ET) -- Air Products and Chemicals Inc., the company famously stung by a poison pill in a 2010 merger fight, has adopted one of its own after observing suspicious activity in its stock, it said Thursday.

The company, which sells gases and chemicals to industrial companies, said it did not adopt the pill in response to any specific threat or proposal, but rather after some “unusual and substantial activity” in its shares. Nearly 300,000 shares traded Thursday, about three times the company's average this year, and its price jumped...
