Deals Rumor Mill: Vivendi, Alibaba, Oaktree Capital

By Karlee Weinmann (July 26, 2013, 1:12 PM EDT) -- France's Vivendi SA is considering splitting up its telecommunications and media businesses after it announced it would unload the bulk of its video-game unit Activision Blizzard Inc., the conglomerate's chief financial officer told reporters Friday. Vivendi has sought to divest assets as it seeks to bear down on its media business, which it has hailed as a pillar of its future success. If the company divides itself, it would follow similar moves by media titan News Corp. and Tribune Co., which have each separated their less profitable publishing assets to insulate their more promising units....
