Ford Must Fork Over $6.5M To Rollover Victim

Law360, New York (February 05, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A Texas jury has reportedly ruled that Ford Motor Co. must shell out $6.5 million to a 41-year-old man who was left brain-damaged after being ejected from his Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle in a rollover accident.

A state court jury in Cotulla, Texas, found on Feb. 1 that the 1993 Explorer was defective and awarded $10 million in damages to the mother of Ruben Zamora, who was permanently disabled in the 2004 accident. However, the jury said Zamora was 35% responsible for the accident, leaving...
