Cablevision Faces Patent Suit Over Routing Technology

Law360, New York (August 1, 2013, 4:24 PM EDT) -- Cablevision Systems Corp. was hit with a lawsuit Monday in Delaware federal court alleging the broadcast giant's telephone and Internet connectivity services violated a Virginia-based company's patented routing technology.

Relay IP Inc., a subsidiary of patent-services firm Marathon Patent Group, is accusing Cablevision of offering its Optimum telephone and Internet subscribers services that use multicast routing technology in violation of U.S. Patent No. 5,331,637.
