GOP Lawmaker Seeks To Reform Veteran Contracting Rules

Law360, Chicago (July 31, 2013, 5:27 PM ET) -- Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., on Wednesday unveiled a new bill designed to iron out kinks in contracting programs for veteran-owned businesses, which have been criticized as expensive and confusing due to administrative overlap between two federal agencies.

Coffman said in a statement that his legislation will fix discrepancies between contracting programs currently run by the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, saving taxpayers money and ensuring qualified veteran contractors aren't passed over.
