EEOC Must Pay $4.7M In CRST Sexual Harassment Fight

Law360, New York (August 02, 2013, 1:26 PM ET) -- An Iowa federal judge on Thursday ordered the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to pick up the tab for $4.7 million in attorneys' fees and expenses CRST Van Expedited Inc. incurred fighting sweeping sexual harassment claims the court found “unreasonable or groundless.”

U.S. District Judge Linda R. Reade handed down a 40-page order partially granting the trucking company's March 18 motion for attorneys' fees and expenses, and ordered the EEOC to pay CRST $4,189,295.10 in fees, $91,758.46 in costs and $413,387.58 in expenses.
