FTC Turns Up Heat On Debt Collectors Amid Reform Push

Law360, New York (August 15, 2013, 6:59 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission’s recent $3.2 million settlement with the world’s largest debt collector, Expert Global Solutions Inc., for allegedly harassing consumers shows the agency will continue to aggressively pursue tough penalties under existing debt collection laws even as it pushes for revamped legislation.
