Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Sony Sued Over E-Reader IP

Law360, New York (August 5, 2013, 6:57 PM EDT) -- Barnes & Noble Inc., Inc. and Sony Electronics. Inc. were hit with lawsuits Friday in Delaware federal court for allegedly violating an e-reader patent.

Delaware-based Advanced eScreens LLC claims in the suits that the e-reader manufacturers are infringing upon U.S. Patent Number 6,525,866 with the Nook, Kindle and PRS e-readers.

“Infringement includes ... making, testing, using, importing, selling, and offering to sell certain products comprising an electrophoretic display that practices the subject matter recited in one or more claims of the ’866 patent,” each complaint...
