Deal Keeps Chrysler Factories Open, For Now

Law360, New York (February 06, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Chrysler LLC reached a temporary deal on Tuesday with its supplier Plastech Engineered Products Inc. to continue buying parts, allowing it to reopen four factories that it had shut down earlier in the week.

Plastech, which declared bankruptcy on Friday shortly after Chrysler canceled its supply contracts with the company, will supply parts for Chrysler until Feb. 15 under the interim agreement. The two companies are currently locked in a dispute over whether Chrysler can demand that Plastech turn over the tooling from factories it uses...
