Olive Oil Co. Can't Get Mislabeling Suits Centralized In NY

Law360, Chicago (August 7, 2013, 2:55 PM ET) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Tuesday rejected Kangadis Food Inc.'s bid to have two putative class actions accusing it of misbranding its Capatriti olive oil centralized in New York federal court, saying doing so would not necessarily promote efficiency.
A suit pending in the Southern District of New York and another in the District of New Jersey both involve allegations that Kangadis, which does business as The Gourmet Factory, misbranded its Capatriti oil as "100% olive oil" when it actually contained an inferior...
