San Bernardino, City Union Reach Deal Over Bankruptcy Plan

Law360, Los Angeles (August 7, 2013, 5:59 PM ET) -- The city of San Bernardino told a California bankruptcy judge Tuesday that it and the San Bernardino Public Employees Association had reached a tentative deal under which the city won't reject collective bargaining agreements and the union won't oppose the bankruptcy protection.
The parties told the judge that they reached the tentative agreement over the terms and conditions of the workers’ employment July 31. Members of the SBPEA, a union representing middle managers, ratified the deal the following day, and the city council approved it Monday,...
