Colo. Christian Univ. Renews ACA Contraception Rule Fight

Law360, New York (August 8, 2013, 2:26 PM EDT) -- Colorado Christian University on Wednesday renewed its fight against the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate, again filing suit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Colorado federal court after its previous challenge to the rule was tossed as premature.

According to the college, an interdenominational Christian liberal arts university in Lakewood, the mandate’s requirement that it provide emergency contraception to employees covered under its health insurance plan or face penalties goes against its religious convictions regarding “the sanctity of life.”
