Understanding ACA's Contraceptive Coverage Exemption

Law360, New York (August 23, 2013, 1:36 PM ET) -- In what will most likely not be the final chapter of a principled dispute between the Obama administration and certain religious groups, the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury released final regulations on June 28, 2013, concerning the exemption from providing coverage for contraceptive and certain other preventive services under the Affordable Care Act. This exemption is available to certain religious organizations, and the final regulations apply to plan years beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2014.
