Beverage Co. Sues Insurer, Broker For $400K Sandy Loss

Law360, New York (August 12, 2013, 9:30 PM ET) -- A New Jersey alcohol distributor recently hit Coverage Consultants Inc. and Hartford Fire Insurance Co. with a breach of contract suit in state court, saying the insurers refused to cover nearly $400,000 worth of inventory destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.

Crillon Importers Ltd., a Paramus, N.J.-based alcohol importer and exporter, filed its suit in the Superior Court of New Jersey on July 22, saying Coverage Consultants and Hartford breached the terms of Crillon’s marine and flood insurance policy by refusing to cover $392,992 worth of merchandise lost...
