Skadden, Torys To Head BlackBerry's Strategic Review

Law360, New York (August 12, 2013, 2:32 PM EDT) -- Smartphone maker BlackBerry Ltd. said Monday it has hired Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP and Canadian firm Torys LLP to help guide a possible sale of the company as it searches for a solution to its mounting financial woes.

Along with Skadden and Torys, the Ontario-based company has hired bankers from JPMorgan Securities LLC and formed a special committee, headed by Timothy Dattels, an Asia-focused partner at private equity firm TPG Capital, to run the process.
