Global Watchdog Unveils Proposal For Resolution Of Insurers

Law360, New York (August 12, 2013, 7:46 PM EDT) -- An international group of financial regulators on Monday asked for input on how its general guidance for the resolution of systemically important financial institutions should be tailored to fit global insurance and reinsurance giants.

The Financial Stability Board released a proposed method for applying the group's resolution guidance to insurers that are labeled as important to global financial stability, a list that for now includes American International Group Inc., MetLife Inc. and Prudential Financial Inc., along with six others.
