E-Book Judge Threatens Apple With Outside Monitor

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 7:03 PM ET) -- The judge who oversaw the Apple Inc. e-book price-fixing trial indicated Tuesday that she would likely appoint an external monitor to review its internal antitrust policy, saying the company showed a “blatant” disregard for the law.

U.S. District Judge Denise Cote said she was inclined to have a monitor review Apple’s antitrust policy, which she said should be overhauled, and oversee a new antitrust compliance training program for Apple staff and management that she intends to impose.
