Watson Pays $8.5M To Resolve Medicaid Fraud Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (August 13, 2013, 10:35 PM EDT) -- Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. has agreed to pay Louisiana $8.5 million to resolve claims that it defrauded the state's Medicaid system by artificially inflating the wholesale prices of its drugs, just before state counsel was slated to give opening statements in the trial, the Louisiana attorney general's office announced Tuesday.
