DOI Focuses On Public Lands In Renewable Energy Push

Law360, New York (August 14, 2013, 5:53 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior plans to approve 20,000 megawatts of renewable energy production on public lands by 2020, taking a so-called landscape-level approach to carbon reduction in furtherance of President Barack Obama's clean energy goals, Secretary Sally Jewell said Tuesday.

During a speech at the National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas, Jewell told attendees that the Interior Department is committed to complying with Obama's “all of the above” energy strategy, focusing more on what the nation's public lands have to offer.
