Flagstar Bank Shakes Loan Discrimination Suit In 6th Circ.

Law360, Los Angeles (August 14, 2013, 7:47 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit decided Wednesday that Flagstar Bank FSB didn't discriminate against a naturalized U.S. citizen from Iraq on account of his national origin when it denied him an extension of a multimillion-dollar loan deadline, ruling that he hadn't backed up his claims.

Affirming a Michigan federal court's dismissal of the case, a three-judge panel held that Samir Danou hadn't offered enough evidence to support his allegations that the bank treated comparable, non-Iraqi applicants more favorably.
