Ex-Ohio Deputy Treasurer Indicted On Corruption Charges

Law360, New York (August 16, 2013, 3:53 PM ET) -- Ohio's former deputy treasurer and Chicago's most recent comptroller was indicted Thursday on charges that he took kickbacks from a securities broker in exchange for steering investment contracts for the state of Ohio his way.

The indictment, filed in the Southern District of Ohio, alleges that Amer Ahmad and two co-defendants took kickbacks from securities broker Douglas Hampton in exchange for giving him preferential contracts to invest Ohio's money, between 2009 and 2011.
