UK Antitrust Court Allows Rail Antitrust Suit To Proceed

Law360, New York (August 16, 2013, 6:15 PM ET) -- A British competition court agreed Thursday to allow several U.K. railway companies, including a local unit of Deutsche Bahn AG, to go ahead with their damages claims against several companies fined by the European Commission for running a carbon and graphite products cartel.

The U.K. Competition Appeal Tribunal decided to partially lift a stay in the case that had been in place since the so-called anchor defendant, Morgan Crucible Co. PLC, initially managed to get the claims brought by Deutsche Bahn and others dismissed.
