Techint Units To Build $1B Gas Power Plant In Mexico

Law360, New York (August 19, 2013, 6:56 PM EDT) -- Three units of Techint Group, a global industrial and energy firm with a concentration in South and Central America, will invest $1 billion to build a natural gas power plant in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

The move comes a week after Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto proposed an energy reform law that would allow private exploitation of Mexico's natural resources, something previously allowed only to state-owned utilities.
