Wash. Wind Farm To Buy Siemens Turbines

Law360, New York (August 20, 2013, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Engineering giant Siemens will build 116 wind turbines for energy firm Portland General Electric's Washington-based wind farm, the companies said Tuesday. 

The 2.3-megawatt turbines are among the smallest type that Siemens makes, but they will add up to 267 megawatts, enough to power 84,000 homes, according to Siemens, which will manufacture turbine parts in Hutchinson, Kan., and the rotor blades in Fort Madison, Iowa. Construction will begin in 2014 and the generators will be activated on a rolling basis, with full output expected to be reached...
