Turtles’ Song Battle Will Spur Suits — If It Clears Hurdles

Law360, San Diego (August 22, 2013, 8:47 PM ET) -- The Turtles’ $100 million proposed class action filed earlier this month in California state court alleging Sirius XM Radio Inc. illegally circulated the band’s songs recorded before 1972 has the potential to trigger more suits over pre-1972 recordings, but the band faces an uphill battle to show the satellite music provider’s public performance of the recordings violated state law, attorneys say.
