Reckitt Sues To Block Par's Generic Suboxone

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 4:58 PM ET) -- Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals Inc. sued Par Pharmaceutical Cos. Inc. on Tuesday in Delaware federal court, claiming the generic-drug maker is infringing two of its patents for the opiate addiction treatment Suboxone.

According to Reckitt, Par’s abbreviated new drug application for a sublingual film, designed with drug delivery company IntelGenX Technologies Corp. and manufactured by LTS Lohmann Therapy Systems Corp., infringes two of the company’s patents for Suboxone — U.S. Patent Numbers 8,475,832 and 8,017,150.
