JPMorgan Taps Paul Weiss For China Bribe Probe

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 9:12 PM ET) -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. has reportedly hired prominent New York law firm Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP to handle ongoing investigations into its hiring practices  in Hong Kong and its ties to possible bribery of government officials there.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is reportedly investigating allegations that JPMorgan hired the children of prominent Chinese government officials and business leaders in a bid to drum up business. Those hirings could violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
