Trader Joe's Says Canadian Man Can't Duck IP Claims In US

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 5:44 PM ET) -- Specialty grocery chain Trader Joe's Co. fired back Monday at a Vancouver man's bid to dismiss the company's trademark infringement accusations against him, saying his Canadian mailing address shouldn't spare him from liability.

The chain has made headlines over the past week for its federal lawsuit alleging Michael Hallatt is violating its trademarked brand by buying thousands of dollars of retail items in Washington and then reselling them in Canada, where Trader Joe's doesn't operate.
