Estee Lauder Faces False Ad Suit Over 'Night Repair' Products

Law360, New York (August 22, 2013, 1:00 PM ET) -- Cosmetics maker the Estee Lauder Cos. Inc. was hit Tuesday with a class action alleging it misleads consumers by falsely advertising its Advanced Night Repair skin products as promoting DNA repair and other age-negating effects.

Plaintiff Donna Tomasino alleged she purchased the company’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex and Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex on the basis of the advertisements, but she says those claims aren’t backed up by actual product testing.
